{"id":436,"date":"2012-03-29T10:31:17","date_gmt":"2012-03-29T15:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journeythroughtheobsidiandream.wordpress.com\/?p=436"},"modified":"2012-03-29T10:31:17","modified_gmt":"2012-03-29T15:31:17","slug":"hod-altaror-seething-on-the-bench","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journeythroughtheobsidiandream.com\/index.php\/2012\/03\/29\/hod-altaror-seething-on-the-bench\/","title":{"rendered":"Hod Altar\u2014or, Seething on the Bench"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I disassembled my Yesod Altar last night and built up an altar representing the powers of Mercury in Hod.\u00a0 This, of course, is a part of my ongoing studies in Western Ceremonialism.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/journeythroughtheobsidiandream.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/03\/img_51511.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image:none;margin:0 auto 2px;padding-left:0;padding-right:0;display:block;float:none;padding-top:0;border:0;\" title=\"IMG_5151\" src=\"http:\/\/journeythroughtheobsidiandream.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/03\/img_51511_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5151\" width=\"425\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I chose last night to do it, in part, because I wanted to upgrade the talisman I\u2019ve been using to help with my studies in Ancient Greek.<\/p>\n<p>Then I remembered (again) that Mercury is still retrograde, and that not only is any magic a bad idea, but that Mercurial magic specifically directed at communication was an exceptionally bad idea.<\/p>\n<p>The results from <a href=\"http:\/\/journeythroughtheobsidiandream.wordpress.com\/2012\/03\/20\/seeking-the-natal-genius-ior-satyrs-first-evocation\/\">my last experiment<\/a> were less than ideal.\u00a0\u00a0 To say I haven\u2019t slept right since would be an exaggeration, and imply a causal connection that is probably better attributed to a combination of\u00a0 school-stress and the manic side of SAD exacerbated by unseasonable weather.\u00a0 In this wake of this, a friend pointed out that perhaps Mercury Retrograde and the Vernal Equinox (the former in general and the combination in particular) were not the best time to be fucking with shit if I didn\u2019t want to break my brain (<a href=\"http:\/\/journeythroughtheobsidiandream.wordpress.com\/2011\/09\/26\/blowing-a-fuse\/\">again<\/a>).\u00a0 I decided he was right, and have pretty much set aside all my experiments in favor of some basic aura maintenance and Yoga.\u00a0 This is probably the best decision I could make, because I really do feel a lot better after another rest.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019m starting to get antsy.\u00a0 That\u2019s, again, at least party the unseasonable weather and the inevitable energy burst of spring.\u00a0 But I\u2019m hot to get back into the magic.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t \u03b2\u03bf\u03cd\u03bb\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9\u2014a rational wish or desire.\u00a0 This is \u1f10\u03c0\u03b9\u03b8\u03c5\u03bc\u03b5\u03c9 (longing desire) bordering on \u1f10\u03c1\u03b1\u03c9 (love+lust).<\/p>\n<p>I have always been drawn to magic; the more I do it, the more I lust after it.<\/p>\n<p>I cant wait for Mercury to turn direct so I can get back to work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I disassembled my Yesod Altar last night and built up an altar representing the powers of Mercury in Hod.\u00a0 This, of course, is a part of my ongoing studies in Western Ceremonialism.
