It occurred to me yesterday that it has been almost two months since I last descended to the Underworld.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
This realization begs a clear and pertinent question: what\u2019s been stopping me?\u00a0 It is tempting to argue that I have been too busy with school; I have been busy, but that\u2019s not actually the reason.\u00a0 I could confess to lazyness\u2014people are always willing to believe that I\u2019ve been lazy.\u00a0 But the truth is actually even worse.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m afraid.<\/p>\n
The last time I went down, a spirit demanded something of me that I wasn\u2019t comfortable giving.\u00a0 Since then I have been afraid to return.\u00a0 I have not been wholly inactive in that time\u2014I drummed my friend Sannafrid down without difficulty about a month ago\u2014but my attempts to descend on my own have been \u2026 fraught.\u00a0 Even aiming to go only as far down as my Inner Temple, my visualization fails me. <\/p>\n
The details are \u2026 sordid, actually, and of a nature somewhat taboo even in the circles I\u2019m running in these days.\u00a0 Maybe I\u2019ll be willing to get into it more once I\u2019ve my research has panned out and I have more context.\u00a0 But the details are also beside the point.<\/p>\n
